Alan originally worked as a teacher in the UK before arriving in Australia in 1974. Subsequently he worked in the sport and recreation field always maintaining an interest in youth in particular. He then completed a Masters degree in Clinical & Educational Psychology and a PhD focusing on interpersonal skills training for adolescents at Murdoch University.
Alan worked for many years training clinical psychologists at Murdoch University in Perth and James Cook University in Townsville before moving to the Gold Coast in 2001 to join TRIPLE P International, based in Brisbane.
Alan spends most of his time, in and out of Australia, training a wide range of professionals to deliver the many TRIPLE P programs and collaborates with Professor Matt Sanders at the University of Queensland furthering the research and development of TEEN TRIPLE P (TRIPLE P for parents of teenagers).
